some notes from brain storming

Civic responsibility in a nutshell is put simply a citizen's responsibility to society. Expanding on that idea an individual's civic responsibility is based on participating in civil society through volunteering, engaging in civic activities, voting, and through programs like graduation with civic honors. Civic responsibility is the essence of how a citizen strengthens the social fabric of civil society.

Graduation with civic honors is a program that allows individuals to actively engage in realizing civic responsibility in action by fostering active participation in civil society.

Civic responsibility is the definition of an idea.
Graduation with civic honors is the implementation of that idea.

moving forward

The new campaign has started and the civic honors project is looking to conduct another round of interviews and expand the current scope of the project. This next year should be full of great steps forward for the civic honors project. In less than a year the first class of students will be graduating with civic honors.

It all started as a rather simple idea that turned into a book called Civic Honors: The possibilities of community, which is currently located at www.civichonors.com. This book is about the strategies used to create an online presence for that book and ideas about the modern advocate.

Beginning to think about what it takes to build an idea about civic engagement and volunteerism into a comprehensive online strategy requires beginning with the end in mind and working backward. Looking at the broadest value of an online strategy requires thinking about who are the advocates and how do you bring in advocates from other ideas.
